Dr. Jaime A. Colley-Sanchez, age 93, of Vidalia, died peacefully in his sleep Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at his home. He was a native of Puerto Rico and had lived the last ten years of his life in Vidalia. He earned his doctorate degree from the School of Tropical Medicine in Puerto Rico and practiced as a surgeon for 30 years. He was also a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving as a flight surgeon during the Cold War. He was Catholic by faith and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ada Capo Colley; and parents, Jaime Colley and Maria Sanchez.
Dr. Colley-Sanchez is survived by three sons, Jaime Colley and wife Lani of California, Javier Colley of Vidalia, and Carlos Colley and wife Wendy of Massachusetts; eleven grandchildren, John Charles, Johan, Julian, Janis, James, Robert, Christina, Caitlyn, Jade, Jasmine and Jaime; and six great-grandchildren.
The funeral mass will be held Friday, February 23rd at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Puerto Rico at a later date.
